TOP 16 PNTS: Qualifying Points.

BRACKET CLASS
When you first sign up for the series you must declare a bracket that you will choose to earn your show up, qualifying, and round points for the series. If you choose to change category during the series, up or down, you will lose your round points accumulated and only take your accumulated show up points with you to your new category.
THROW-OUT RACE
For the 2012, seven race series, we will be tossing one of your races for the 7 race series. Only 6 races will be accounted for (your lowest points race will be removed). If you only race 6 races or less, those races will be the ones we will total your points up in. *NOTE- If for some unforeseen reason we have to cancel a race due to weather conditions or track problems, Speedworld will do everything possible to reschedule the race. If it is not possible to do so, the points will stand with no race dropped.
***QUALIFYING POINTS:
It is a must that you make your qualifying runs in your designated class and correct lane! Do not run out of your class to make up for a run, as this will cause computer qualifying and ladder mistakes. Please come to your classes' correct lane when you are called.
The top 16 racer in each category will receive points for qualifying based on reaction time during time trials. Example: The #1 qualifier gets 16 pints, the #2 qualifier gets 15 pints, #3 gets 14 points and so on down to the 16th qualifier who will receive 1 points.
TIES:
In the event of a tie in points for any category at the end of the year series race, a one-shot run off will determine the winner, who will be declared Speedworld's Track Champion. The top FIVE points winners in each class will be entered into the Race of Champions at the ET Finals; ALSO, the winner of each class at the ET Finals will also be entered into the Race of Champions, which for 2012 will be held on Sunday..
AUDIT:
All points records are open for audit at anytime. You may ask your Team Captain or Co-Captain to go over the points with you. Please keep track of your own points as well, as mistakes do happen with a large amount of racers. See the racer case on the wall of the Hot Rod Shop for up-to-date team points.
DIAL IN'S:
You must stay within your index times per your class that you sign up in. If you dial out of your index any time during elimination you will be disqualified and your competitor will be reinstated. Each competitor will be responsible for checking to see that his or her dial in is correct up on the score board before staging. If there is a question regarding your dial in, DO NOT stage your car, but get the attention of the starter. No re-runs will be allowed due to incorrect dial ins. Be responsible for yourself, you stage on the dial you accepted! On a bye run, you must stage and break the beams; you do not have to make the full pass. On a competition single (your opponent does not show) you must cross the finish line under your own power to advance to the next round. Note: red lights and breakouts do not matter in these situations.
RE-RUNS:
Per NHRA, if a re-run takes place, the cars must maintain the same lanes, but may change their Dial In.
PAIRING AND BYE RUNS:
First round pairing are random and picked by the staging director, the #1 qualifier gets the potential bye. If the racer refuses the bye run he will be disqualified. When it becomes the quarter finals a NHRA ladder will be printed. Potential Bye Run is to be run last and racer is to stay at back of the lanes.
LANE SELECTIONS:
The staging director decides each round pairing per Speedworld Track guidelines. From first round on, once on a ladder, racers must decide their own lane choice. If one cannot be decided upon, a flip of the coin will be used.
***TEAM ASSIGNMENT:
PER NHRA FOR THE 2012 ET FINALS. A PARTICIPATING NHRA TRACK ATTENDED THE SUMMIT ET FINALS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BRING TWO FULL TEAMS. CONSISTING OF:
TWO Teams if 40 members each; the top 16 points leaders from Sportsman, Pro, Super Pro Motorcycle, plus a maximum of 4 High School members on the team (making up a full team of 68). If one of the top 16 chooses not to travel, then the next in points may take that spot. In order to qualify to run the ET Finals you must have run at least FOUR races.
SAFETY RULES:
Every category must follow NHRA and Speedworld safety rules pertaining to their particular class, according to the NHRA ET Finals printed rules & NHRA rulebook. All racers must follow the track safety rules and regulations, no exceptions!
CONDUCT RULE:
All racing related complaints are to be directed to Speedworld's RACE DIRECTOR ONLY! Do not go to the Staging, Starter, Tower, Team Captains. It is very important all racers realize that mishaps during events will take place. Please keep a cool head and talk & behave in a sportsmanlike manner – not only to the staff, but your fellow racers as well. Per NHRA rules a racer conducting themselves in a abusive manner or use of foul language will be ejected from the event and possibly not allowed to return to the track per the Race Director.
NHRA BREAKAGE RULE:
In the event of a breakage before the first round, a racer must notify your team captain. You MAY tech in and race another vehicle to continue into first round of your class. The event will not stop for you to make a special time run, you will need to dial that vehicle within the class index and make the first round as is. If you win a round and your vehicle breaks you are done for the race day. You must continue in the same vehicle that you ran in first round, no jumping into any other vehicle.
DEEP STAGING:
Vehicles are not to designate DEEP on their window, but may deep stage.
FUNDRAISER TRAVEL MONIES:
Throughout the 2012 series several fundraisers will be held. This money is a donation for those members traveling to the ET Finals. The amount given is based on what is collected and is given to each member as a single person, not by how many cars the member runs. Please support these fundraisers by helping with donations or ideas. One Fundraiser will be an Aluminum can collection, so start saving those cans now!
